An Introduction to Sacred Sound

If you would like to experience the transformational properties of sound created by some of the most ancient and powerful instruments known to man..... then here is your opportunity!

Earthdance are running a 'Sacred Sound' retreat introducing the use of the amazing resonance of ancestral sounds from Mon 8th -Fri 11th May 2009 at the beautiful and tranquil Launde Abbey Retreat Centre in Leicestershire.

A four-day total experience including:

  • Deeply relaxing, cleansing and re-balancing sound baths
  • Introduction to the fundamental playing skills and techniques of gongs, singing bowls, shamanic drum, Native American flute, didgeridoo and Djembe (African drum). All instruments provided.
  • Hands on workshops to help you work intuitively with each individual instrument and discover their incredible magnetism and extensive healing properties
  • Voice work using sounds for re-balancing, toning and mantra
  • Morning practice, including: breathing exercises/techniques (Pranayama), some gentle exercises to stimulate, revitalise and stretch the body in preparation for the day

All amongst 440 acres of the beautiful Rutland farmland estate, including 10 acres of landscaped garden and two ancient woodlands. It is worth coming purely to bathe in its magic.

To add to the power and magic of this retreat there is a full moon on Saturday 9th May. There will be a traditional Native American tipi in the gardens where we shall be holding a full moon fire and drum ceremony on that evening. The tipi will be available for your use throughout the retreat.

All rooms are en-suit and finished to a high standard with coffee and tea making facilities. There is a cosy lounge where you can relax, have a chat and socialise.

The exchange for all this including accommodation and all meals is £450 for the four days. On booking we would need a £60 deposit, which includes insurance, with a £400 balance to pay by April 17th 2009, or payment in full.
